Coinlytics now offers a referral program where you can earn Bitcoin when you refer Coinlytics to a friend and they subscriber. We assign you a referral code that you can share with your friends. If a friend applies your referral code and subscribes to Coinlytics, you'll both earn free Bitcoin.
The app now has a simple interface that lets you track your referrals and redeem your rewards.
We wanted to make this process as easy as possible so we decided to use the Lightning Network to pay out rewards. This is a simples, friction-free way of receiving your reward. When the friend you referred subscribes to Coinlytics, the next time you both open the app you'll see a new entry in the Rewards section of the app. Open the reward and redeem your it using a Lightning wallet which you'll already have installed on your device, or with another device where you can scan a QR code.
How It Works
The rewards process begins when you refer a friend to Coinlytics.
To start the process, you need to share your referral code. To see your referral code, open the 'More' menu and tap on the 'Earn Free Bitcoin with Coinlytics' section at the top of the screen.

To share the referral code:
- Tap 'Copy Invite Link' and share it any way you like (i.e. paste to an email, share over social media apps, etc)
- Tap 'Share' to use the built in iOS share options
When your friend opens the link on their iPhone or iPad, there are two things that can happen:
- If your friend already has the app installed on their device, they will see a message showing them that your referral code has been applied.
- If your friend does not have the app installed on their device, they will be taken to the webpage that will prompt them to install the app. Once the app is installed, they can open the link again which will apply the referral code.
Once the referral code has been applied, it will be displayed on your friends device when they go to the subscription screen on their device.
Activating Your Rewards
Rewards are created as soon as your friend subscribes to Coinlytics. As soon as they complete the iOS subscription process, they will receive their reward and you will too. If you have push notifications turned on, you'll receive a notification that your referral code was used and a reward has been created for you.
Redeeming Your Rewards
Rewards are first created and will appear in your app as 'Pending'. If you tap on a pending reward, you'll see this:
When rewards are created, our team gets a notification - we validate the transaction and then we activate the reward. This will normally happen right away but will definitely happen with 24 hours. The reason for this process is that we manually review the reward to make sure it was allocated properly. Check back in to your Rewards screen and shortly you'll see that the reward is ready to be redeemed:
Tap on the reward and you'll see your reward details ready to be redeemed:
You can redeem your reward in a number of ways:
- Scan the QR Code with another device.
- Tap 'Copy LN URL' and then open your favorite Lightning wallet and it should detect the LNURL and automatically paste it
- Save the QR Code to your Photos, switch to your favorite Lightning wallet and import the QR Code. Not all wallets support this but some do.
This screen lists the iOS Lightning wallets that we've tested but your reward URL should work with any Lightning wallet.
Once you redeem your reward, it will move to the 'Redeemed' section in your app. If you tap on a redeemed reward, the app will tell you that it's been redeemed.
